galleried – instant inspiration

I just downloaded a great tool to gain inspiration on graphic design, Galleried. This app both for Mac and the iPhone/iPad scans the great resources for the best webdesign and graphic design and presents them in a clear overview. The main resources are webcreme, creattica and dribble, which were already my favorites, but now condensed to a single gateway.

It might not be new to you, but JESS3 made this stop-motion animation to educate mobile users about Gmail’s “just like your web-based-browser” interface available in 44 languages on mobile devices like the iPhone.

“What better way to highlight the features of Gmail, that will now be available on select phone browsers in 44 languages, than to bring these features to life, march them from the web to the iPhone, all through stop-motion animation?”

Always getting stuck in your creative design process? David Sherwin gave an inspiring keynote presentation on the SXSW Interactive in Austin, TX (unfortunately I was not there). He reminds all you designer what the core design competences are, and no, that is not Adobe Photoshop, Blend, Microsoft Office nor HTML5. He captured some of the many questions that arose during the conference and answered them on his blog and he used the slides seen below.
